4.3 Right-Click Context Menu

This section explains the functionality available in the right-click context menu when managing files in the Kedao Cloud environment. Company Admins can use this to guide user actions and manage access controls effectively.

 Available Context Menu Options
When a user right-clicks on a file (e.g., a .docx document), the following options appear:

 Open
Action: Opens the selected file in the integrated editor or viewer.
Use Case: To read or modify the file content directly in Kedao Cloud.

 Cut
Action: Marks the selected file to move it to another directory.
Use Case: Relocating files without duplication.

Copy
Action: Copies the selected file to paste it elsewhere.
Use Case: Duplicating files for sharing or backup purposes.

 Rename
Action: Allows the user to edit the file name.
Use Case: Correcting naming conventions or clarifying content purpose.

Admin Tip: Set naming policies for standardization across teams.

Delete
Action: Permanently removes the selected file from the directory.
Use Case: Cleaning up obsolete or duplicate files.

Warning: Deletion may be irreversible unless a recycle bin feature is active.

 Orient Drop
Action: Moves or pastes previously cut/copied content into the current folder.
Use Case: Completes file transfer actions.

Note: Appears only when a file is ready to be pasted.

Admin ModifyingPermission

  • NewAdmins Folder:can Right-clickmanage user “Newaccess Folder”to these options through role-based permissions. For example:

         4.3.3 Moving/Copying Files

     

  • Move a file: Click and drag it to the new folder

  • Copy a file: Hold Ctrl and drag it

  • You can also right-click a file and select Copy or Cut, then Paste it wherever you need

    4.3.4Restoring Files

  • get a deleted file back: Open Recycle Bin, find the file, right-click "Restore.

  • delete it forever: In Recycle Bin, right-click the file, choose "Delete Permanently."
