4.1 Selection and Operation

4.1.1 File Selection

File Selection Methods Kedao Cloud offers multiple file selection methods, providing users with a familiar and efficient experience similar to that of a local Windows system.

  • Click to Select Click on a file to select it, and double-click to open. Additionally, users can select multiple files by dragging the mouse to create a selection box.
  • Shortcut Key Selection Use keyboard shortcuts such as Up, Down, Left, Right, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down to navigate and select files quickly.
  • Combination Key Selection Employ keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+A (select all), Shift+Click (select a range), or Ctrl+Click (select multiple individual files) for efficient file management.
  • Smart First Letter Positioning Start typing letters or numbers on the keyboard to automatically search and locate files. The system will dynamically switch to the relevant file as you type.

4.1.2 Basic File Operations

Opening Files Double-click on a file or folder to open it directly. The file will automatically be associated with the appropriate application based on its type.
Mouse Right-Click Options Right-clicking provides a context-sensitive menu with different options depending on where the click occurs:

  • Blank Area: Right-click in an empty area to access general file operations.
  • File: Right-click on a specific file to access operations relevant to that file.
  • Folder: Right-click on a folder to see options specific to folder management.
  • Multiple Selections: Right-click after selecting multiple files or folders to apply batch operations.

Shortcut Key Operations

Common file operations can be performed using keyboard shortcuts:

  • Open File
  • Rename
  • Copy
  • Paste
  • Cut
  • Delete

 

File Drag and Drop Select a file or folder and drag it to a target location such as a different folder, address bar item, or directory tree item to move or copy it.
 
Composite Key Operations To create a copy of a file or folder, hold down Ctrl while dragging the item to the target location. This action duplicates the file in the new location.
