4.1 Overview of the File Manager Interface

4.1.1 Top Bar Icons :
  • Yellow triangle: minimizes the window, hiding it from view but keeping it open in the background. 
  • Green triangle: maximizes or restores the window size.
  • Red triangle: closes the window completely.

4.1.2 Top Navigation Bar:
  • Back Button: Takes you to the previously visited folder or location. Useful for retracing your navigation steps.
  • Forward Button: Moves you forward to the next location after using the Back button. Helps in quickly jumping ahead in your history.
  • Home Path Navigation: Displays your current folder path (e.g., Home > Document). Click any part of the path to jump directly to that location.
  • Refresh Button: Reloads the current folder view to show the latest updates. Handy after adding, deleting, or moving files.
  • Search Bar (Top-right): Lets you quickly find files or folders by typing their names. Saves time by avoiding manual browsing.

4.1.3 Sidebar Menu (Main Navigation):
  •  Home – Displays default folders (Desktop, Document, Download, Recycle Bin)
  •  Personal – Personal file space
  • Stared – Files/folders marked as favorites
  • Network Drive – Access to mapped network drives
  • Orient Drop – Cloud storage or file drop feature

Main Display Area:
  • Desktop: Files saved or accessed from the desktop interface.

  • Document: Stores text files, PDFs, and other documents.

  • Download: Contains files downloaded from the internet or system.

  • Recycle Bin: Holds deleted items; can be restored or permanently removed.
