6.3 Benchmark Reports
6.3.1 Overview
The Benchmark Reports feature allows administrators to set performance benchmarks for various activities within the Dots Logo application. By defining these target values, you can easily compare actual system performance against desired metrics, helping to identify areas for improvement or success.
6.3.2 Accessing Benchmark Reports
To access the Benchmark Reports configuration:
6.3.2.2 Understanding the Benchmark Form
The Benchmark Form is where you define the target percentage or value for different activity types. The form is structured with tabs for various activity categories, allowing you to set benchmarks for each.

6.3.2.3 Activity Categories (Tabs):
At the top of the Benchmark Form, you will find several tabs representing different categories of activities for which you can set benchmarks:
- User Activity: Define benchmarks related to individual user actions and engagement.
- Group Activity: Set benchmarks for actions performed by user groups.
- RBAC (Role-Based Access Control): Configure benchmarks for activities related to user roles and permissions.
- File Management: Establish benchmarks for operations involving files and documents.
- Security Activity: Define benchmarks for security-related events and actions.
- System Performance Activity: Set benchmarks for overall system performance metrics.
6.3.2.4 Configuring Benchmarks for User Activity
When the User Activity tab is selected (as shown in the example image), you can define the following benchmark percentages:
-
Successful Logout (%): Enter the target percentage of successful user logouts.
-
Active Users (%): Define the desired percentage of active users within a given period.
-
Inactive Users (%): Set the acceptable percentage of inactive users.
-
Successful Login (%): Enter the target percentage for successful user logins.
-
Max Size Space (%): Define the maximum percentage of storage space used.
-
File Uses Size (%): Set the target percentage for file usage or consumption.
6.3.2.5 Configuring Benchmarks for Group Activity
when the Group Activity tab is selected (as shown in the example image), you can define the following benchmark percentages:
- Most Active Group (%): Define the target percentage representing the group with the highest activity level.
- Total Users in Groups (%): Specify the percentage of total users that should belong to one or more groups.
- File Sharing Between Groups (%): Set the desired percentage of files shared between different user groups.
- Size Used in Group (%): Indicate the average storage usage percentage across all groups.
- Max Size in Group (%): Define the maximum allowed storage usage percentage for any single group.
- Most Inactive Group (%): Set the percentage representing the group with the least activity level.
6.3.2.6 Configuring Benchmarks for Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
When the RBAC tab is selected (as shown in the example image), you can define the following benchmark percentages to monitor and optimize role-based user management:
- Total Users in Roles (%): Target percentage of users assigned to specific roles in the system.
- Most Active Roles (%): Desired percentage of roles showing the highest user activity.
- Most Inactive Roles (%): Acceptable percentage of roles with little or no user activity.
- Max Size Space (%): Maximum storage space used by users within specific roles.
- File Uses Size (%): Target file usage percentage by users across different roles.
6.3.2.7 Configuring Benchmarks for File Management
When the File Management tab is selected, you can define the following benchmark percentages:
- Files Edited by Users (%): Set the target percentage of files edited by users.
- Files Uploaded by Users (%): Define the benchmark for files uploaded by users.
- File Types Accessed (%): Enter the expected percentage of different file types accessed.
- Deleted Files by Users (%): Set the acceptable percentage of files deleted by users.
- Total File Extensions (%): Define the benchmark for the variety of file extensions used.
- Files Downloaded by Users (%): Enter the target percentage for user file downloads.
6.3.2.8 Configuring Benchmarks for Security Activity
- Suspicious Login (%): Set the acceptable percentage threshold for logins flagged as suspicious.
- Privilege Change (%): Define the target percentage of user accounts with privilege or role changes.
6.3.2.9 Configuring Benchmarks for System Performance Activity
- CPU Usage (%): Enter the maximum acceptable percentage of CPU utilization.
- Memory Usage (%): Define the target percentage for RAM usage within the system.
- Storage Usage (%): Set the benchmark percentage for total disk space consumed.
6.3.2.10 Saving and Resetting Benchmarks
After entering your desired benchmark values:
- Reset: Click this button to clear all entered values in the currently active tab and revert them to their default state.
- Save: Click this button to apply and save the configured benchmark values for the selected activity category. These saved benchmarks will then be used for reporting and comparison
6.3.3 Understanding the
6.3.3.1 Header Action Buttons
- Add Graph: Opens a dialog to insert a new benchmark graph.
- Reset Added Graph: Clears or resets any graphs added to the interface.
- Export (Dropdown): Opens options for exporting the graph data in PDF or CSV.
6.3.3.2 Benchmark Metrics Panel
- Select Activity Group: Choose a category of user or system activities
- Select Activity Type: Pick a specific activity within the selected group
- Select graph: Choose the graph type to visualize the selected activity data
Note: All the options Select Activity Group, Select Activity Type, and Select Graph function similarly and follow the same selection pattern as described in Section 6.1.
You select data by choosing an Activity Group and Activity Type to filter, then pick a graph to visualize the results. This focuses your view to specific data displayed how you want it.
6.3.3.3 Select Date
This feature allows users to filter data based on specific timeframes, enabling more focused monitoring and analysis. Options include:
-
Custom Date: Manually select a specific start and end date using a date picker.
-
Last Day: Automatically filters and displays data from the previous day.
-
Last 7 Days: Shows records and activities from the past week.
-
Last 15 Days: Retrieves data entries from the last 15 days for broader trend analysis.
-
Last 30 Days: Displays an extended view of data across the past month.
This flexible time filtering makes it easier to monitor system usage, performance trends, and user activity over targeted durations.
